English: This is a painting from the book China, The Scenery, Architecture, and Social Habits of That Ancient Empire, first published in 1843. The author Thomas Allom painted it on the basis of sketches by Willian Alexander, who visited China in 1793. 中文：出自英国建筑师、插画设计家Thomas Allom(1804-1872)的画册《中国：那个古代帝国的风景、建筑和社会风俗》。作者曾来华旅游，回英后与传教士G.H.Wright合作出版此书。初版时间在1843年。阿罗姆借用别人的素描稿重新描画19世纪的中国世态风情。目前所知，他主要借用了1793年访问中国的英国使团随团画师威廉－亚历山大Willian Alexander的画稿。 |
