Created by me in Inkscape. English: Comparison of three common aspect ratios constrained by the screen diagonal size (the black circle). The shorter, wider box (blue) and middle box (green) are common formats for cinematography. The tallest box (red) is the format used in standard television.
Deutsch: Vergleich der drei gebräuchlichen Seitenverhältnisse abhängig von der Diagonalgröße (der schwarze Kreis). Der kleinere Kasten (blau) und der mittlere Kasten (grün) sind die gebräuchlichen Formate beim Film. Der große Kasten (rot) ist das vom Standardfernsehen genutzte Format.
Français : Comparaison de trois rapports d'affichage vidéo courants, inclus dans une diagonale d'écran (cercle noir). Le rectangle le plus large (bleu) et le rectangle du milieu (vert) sont des formats courants pour la projection de films. Le rectangle le plus haut (rouge) est le format standard des anciens modèles de téléviseur.
