印度汽车工业

根据2022年的统计数据,按产量和估值计算,印度的汽车工业是世界第四大汽车工业[1][2][3]。截至2022年4月,印度汽车工业价值超过1000亿美元,占该国出口总额的8%以及GDP的7.1%[4]。截至2023年,就销量而言,印度是世界第三大汽车市场[5]

历史

1897年,第一辆汽车在印度道路上行驶。至1930年代,所有汽车都是进口的,而且数量很少。1940年代,印度出现了一个萌芽的汽车工业。印度斯坦汽车公司英语Hindustan Motors于1942年开始为英国莫里斯汽车代工。1944 Premier公司开始生产克莱斯勒公司旗下的汽车例如道奇普利茅斯英语Plymouth (automobile),并于1960年代开始生产菲亚特产品[6]。根据2021年全国家庭健康调查,只有8%的印度家庭拥有汽车[7][8]。据政府统计,印度每1000人拥有22辆汽车[9][10]
