罗克出生于巴西米纳斯吉拉斯州蒂莫特乌，他在十岁时加入米内罗美洲的青训学院[2]。在他的14岁生日前，罗克拒绝了米内罗美洲所提供的合约，并在2019年3月与克鲁塞罗签约[2][3]，令米内罗美洲向巴西政府的劳工部门对克鲁塞罗提出诉讼，双方最终在同年5月达成协议，米内罗美洲保留球员所有权中的35%，而克鲁塞罗则拥有剩余的65%[4][3]。
