小兔形袋狸

小兔形袋狸（Macrotis leucura），又名小兔耳袋狸，是像兔的袋狸。它们的大小如幼兔，生活在澳洲中部的沙漠。自1950年代起，相信它们已经灭绝。

小兔形袋狸最先于1887年发现。它们是杂食性的，主要吃白蚁、蚁及根。[3]它们呈灰褐色，下身呈浅灰色，尾巴白色。它们比兔耳袋狸细小很多，只有300-450克重。它们分布在澳洲中部的吉布生沙漠及大沙沙漠。它们因被猎杀、被赤狐所掠食及与兔争夺食物下而灭绝。
小兔形袋狸会在砂堆中挖坑筑巢，深约2-3米，日间会以沙来遮蔽入口。它们夜间活动，每季繁殖，每胎产两只袋狸。最后发现存活的小兔形袋狸是于1932年。最后捕获的标本是于1967年在楔尾鹰的巢中找到的头颅骨，估计它死时约有15岁。
