文莱伊斯兰教
伊斯兰教是文莱的官方宗教，64％的人口是穆斯林。[1][2][3]
最大穆斯林族群是马来人，遵从逊尼派中的沙菲仪派。大多数其他的穆斯林群体是岛上原住民与华人。[4]
伊斯兰教是在15世纪时被马六甲王国苏丹接受，传统上，苏丹是负责维护伊斯兰传统，虽然这个也是委派任命的官员的责任。
自20世纪30年代，苏丹利用上升的石油收入提供了一个庞大的社会福利制度和促进伊斯兰教，包括资助建清真寺，朝觐，并扩大宗教事务局。
