法国人口
2013年1月1日时，法兰西共和国有人口66,394,000[1]，其中63,702,000人居住在法国本土[2]， 2,692,000人居住在法国的海外省或法国海外领土。法国曾是欧洲人口最多的国家，中世纪时期欧洲四分之一以上的人口是法国人。20世纪初期，欧洲其他国家（如德国和俄罗斯）的人口数超过法国。但在战后，由于婴儿潮的出现，法国人口急剧增加。2004年以来，每年有20万移民进入法国，其中二分之一出生在欧洲，三分之一出生在非洲。2009年至2012年期间，来自欧洲的移民急剧增加（平均每年增加12%）[3]。法国的生育率在长期下降之后在1990年代出现回升，现在接近人口自然更替水准。2006年，法国人口自然增加30万人，这是过去三十年未曾出现的[4]。2010年，法国本土新出生了802,000名婴儿，其中80.1%父母都是法国人，13.3%父母中有一人是法国人，6.6%父母都不是法国人[5]。

注意事项:
- 人口统计仅计算法国本土人口，不包括法国殖民地和保护国的人口。法属阿尔及利亚及其各省虽然在1962年之前是法国的本土省份，但并未包含在数据中。
- 为了便于比较，下面提供的数据是现代边界内的人口计算，并不计算中世纪的法兰德斯，或是拿破仑战争时期的占领领土人口。
- 1801年之前的人口数是现代估计，而从1801年开始的人口数则是透过人口普查。
