2010年7月，据《洛杉矶时报》报导，一部改编自1980年代电视剧《特技猎人（英语：The Fall Guy）》的电影正在开发中。梦工厂与制片人瓦尔特·帕克斯（英语：Walter F. Parkes）和劳拉·麦当劳（英语：Laurie MacDonald）将参与制作[2]，马丁·坎贝尔洽谈执导[3]。2013年9月，道恩·强森洽谈出演男主角，而麦克G洽谈执导[4]。2020年9月，据报导称瑞恩·高斯林将与大卫·雷奇合作出演一部由环球影业发行的未定名特技演员电影[5]。2022年9月，艾米莉·布朗特参演[6]。2022年10月，亚伦·约翰逊和史蒂芬妮·许参演[7][8]。2022年11月，温斯顿·杜克、汉娜·沃丁厄姆与泰莉莎·帕尔墨参演[9][10][11]。

电影2022年10月[12]在迪士尼澳大利亚制片厂（英语：Disney Studios Australia）开始进行主体拍摄[13][14]。2022年10月20日，剧组在古尔本街（英语：Goulburn Street）停车场进行夜间拍摄，葛斯林被媒体拍到留着胡子及凌乱的长发[15][16][17]。2023年1月22日，雪梨海港大桥白天关闭数小时，用于拍摄葛斯林相关的戏份[18][19]。
