眼墙置换循环(英语:Eyewall replacement cycle),又称为眼壁更替周期,是一种发生于热带气旋中心的现象,在原眼墙外,形成新眼壁,并逐步移入中心,取代旧有的内眼壁。眼墙置换一般会发生于强烈的热带气旋,一般发生在接近中心最高持续风速大于185千米每小时(115英里每小时)的热带气旋,亦即发展非常成熟之台风飓风,相当于中国国家气象中心香港天文台超强台风台湾中央气象局强烈台风萨菲尔-辛普森飓风等级三级飓风(大型飓风)或以上级别。

热带气旋在出现“眼墙置换循环”前,首先会发展出多个眼墙的结构(如双眼墙)。一个外眼壁在中心密集云团形成,并缓慢收缩,逐渐夺走旧有内眼壁继续保持所需要的水分和角动量。因为热带气旋的眼墙风力最大,所以在眼墙置换的过程中热带气旋通常会减弱。内眼壁逐渐被外眼壁“扼杀”,最终内眼壁将会消失,外眼壁则继续收紧。[1]

眼墙置换循环中出现的不一定只有双眼墙,甚至曾经有热带气旋出现过不只两层眼墙的飓风,例如2001年飓风朱丽叶英语Hurricane Juliette (2001)出现“三眼墙”(三重眼壁)[2],但他仍会先后合并为双眼墙,内层眼墙终将消失,完成眼墙置换循环。

观测历史 编辑

眼墙置换周期的观测,最早在1956年的台风莎拉,当时观测到莎拉开始出现双眼墙,并被描述为“风眼里面有风眼”[3],并借由侦察机观察6公里的内眼墙和28公里的外眼墙。但经过8小时的飞行,内眼墙消失,外眼墙缩小至16公里,且最大持续风速和台风强度出现减弱的现象[3]。第二次眼墙置换循环的观测是在1960的飓风唐娜[4]。侦察机上的雷达显示出内眼墙的高度从16公里不断变化并达到21公里高,接近对流层顶

双眼墙曾经被认为是一个罕见的现象,但由于侦察机和微波卫星数据的发明以及观测技术的进步,因而发现有超过一半的热带气旋在发展的过程都至少会发展一次双眼墙。

演变成环形气旋 编辑

环形气旋有十分大且环形对称的眼壁。观测显示眼墙置换循环可以使热带气旋发展成环形气旋。
