金培源
香港首席按察司
金培源爵士，CBE，KC（英语：Sir Joseph Horsford Kemp，1874年12月23日—1950年9月13日），英国殖民地官员，律师和法官， 1914年至1930年担任律政司，1930年至1933年担任香港首席按察司。

早期生活 编辑
金培源于1874年12月23日出生于德罗赫达，早年曾就读都柏林高级学校[1] ，后负笈开普大学（今南非大学），之后在伦敦大学攻读法学。
殖民地生涯 编辑
金培源甫到港便协助当时的辅政司骆克进行新界土地登记。[3]1900年，他被委任担任香港土地法庭司法常务官。[4]1902年，金培源任占屋委员会秘书，[5]同年通过最后一份广东话考试。[6]1904年，金培源获委任洁净局助理秘书[7]，同年为警察裁判司，[8]同年署任为香港高等法院司法常务官。[9] 1907年，金培源被政府委托处理公司破产事宜。[10][11]1909年，金培源正式成为香港高等法院司法常务官。[12]1911年，他入读林肯律师学院，取得律师资格。[13] 1913年，金培源获委任为香港高等法院陪席法官，[14] 两年后被任命为香港律政司。任内，他亦兼任定例局议员。[1]
1930年，金培源接替亨利·高伦爵士为香港首席按察司。同时他亦以香港首席按察司的身份，担任英国在华最高法院合议庭法官。[16]
退休 编辑
1933年，金培源告老归国。退休前夕，他获香港大学授予荣誉法学博士学位[17]。 金培源于1950年9月13日在萨顿（Sutton）的家中去世，终年75岁。[18]
