隐尾蠊属
(重定向自Cryptocercus)
隐尾蠊属(Cryptocercus)是网翅总目下的一属及隐尾蠊科下的唯一成员[1]。此属为亚社会性,若虫需要亲代大量的照顾。隐尾蠊属的肠胃中生有和食木性白蚁相同的木质消化共生菌,此点被视为两者有着极为接近关系的证据,也就是说白蚁基本上是从社会性蟑螂演化而来[2]。

隐尾蠊属能在北美洲和亚洲被发现,目前共有12个已知物种[3]。
隐尾蠊属拥有许多和白蚁相同的特征。种系发生学研究显示本属与白蚁的关系比起其他的蜚蠊还要更加密切[4],隐尾蠊属为白蚁领科的姊妹群。
