伊丽莎白·弗朗西斯

伊丽莎白·弗朗西斯（英语：Elizabeth Francis，1909年7月25日—），[2]美国超级人瑞，继伊迪·切卡雷利（Edie Ceccarelli）于2024年2月22日逝世后成为在世最年长美国人。[3]

弗朗西斯于1909年7月25日生于美国路易斯安那州圣玛丽堂区的一户非裔美国人家庭，[4]父亲为约翰·弗朗西斯（John Francis，1880年—1969年），母亲为弗吉尼亚·马修斯（Virginia Matthews，1880年—1920年），但她不知道自己在堂区内哪个地方出生。[5]她的家人亦颇为长寿，姐姐兼邻里伯莎·约翰逊（Bertha Johnson，1904年8月6日—2011年2月21日）活到106岁，[6]另外一名姊妹活到95岁。[7][a]1920年母亲病逝后，她和五名兄弟姊妹各被送往不同的家庭，而她则被送往得克萨斯州休斯敦由阿姨照顾。[9]

2024年2月1日珀尔·伯格（Pearl Berg）去世后，[15]弗朗西斯成为最后一位生于1900年代的美国人。[16]三周后刚过116岁生日的伊迪·切卡雷利病逝，她成为在世最年长的美国人。[17]但由于西班牙人玛丽亚·布拉尼亚斯·莫雷拉生于加利福尼亚州，她直至8月19日莫雷拉身故后方成为在世最年长且生于美国的人。[18]

截至2024年9月25日，她是获老人学研究组织认证的在世第三年长者，仅次于糸冈富子和伊娜·卡纳巴罗·卢卡斯。[19]
