刺蛾科（学名：Limacodidae）是昆虫纲鳞翅目双孔亚目斑蛾总科下的一科昆虫[1]。已记录的种数达301属1,672种[2]。

刺蛾成虫身体和前翅密生绒毛和厚鳞。幼虫体扁，大部分种类体表生有枝刺和螫毛。当人被刺蛾幼虫蜇过后, 皮肤会红肿、疼痛，严重甚至会威胁生命。因此刺蛾科幼虫被称为“痒辣子”、“火辣子”或“刺毛虫”[3]。

幼虫多以阔叶树叶为食。是重要经济林、行道林的主要害虫[3]。

金蛾科（Chrysopolomidae）原来跟刺蛾科一样是斑蛾总科之下的一个科，由两个亚科组成，包含约30个分布于非洲的物种[4]，在较新的文献，这个科被降格，成为了本科之下的一个亚科金蛾亚科（Chrysopolominae），原来在金蛾科之下的两个亚科现在变成了金蛾亚科的异名[5]。
