在2027年8月7日，这颗近地小行星将以0.0026 AU（390,000 km；240,000 mi）（大约1月球距离）接近地球[6][7][8][9]。当它最接近时，这颗小行星的视星等将达到7.3等[10]，用双筒望远镜就可以看见。
1999 AN10 的观测弧长达58年，所以有非常确定的轨道[1]。它是由安德列·多普勒和Arno Gnädig在回溯发现的影像中发现的[1]。当1999 AN10仅有123天的观测弧时，它在2039年返回时的轨道有千万分之一的机会撞击到地球[11]。
在1946年8月7日，这颗小行星以0.00625 AU（935,000 km；581,000 mi）的距离接近地球，然后以0.00404 AU（604,000 km；376,000 mi）的距离掠过月球[7]。
