建屋合作社(英语:Building society),是一种互助金融机构,主要业务包括储蓄、住房信贷等,有些也提供借记卡、信用卡和个人贷款业务。这种形式的金融机构目前存在于英国澳大利亚新西兰,也曾经存在于爱尔兰、部分英联邦国家,以及香港。贷款人和存款人都是合作社的社员,也是合作社的实际所有者。合作社董事由社员一人一票投票产生。

在英国,建屋合作社和其他银行一样接受政府机构的金融监管和规范,并与银行一起进行住房贷款和储蓄等业务竞争。合作社可以使用非社员的融资作为借贷资金,上限是贷款总额的50%。全世界最大的建屋合作社是英国的泛邦建房合作社英语Nationwide Building Society

香港政府公务员建屋合作社 编辑

香港政府公务员建屋合作社是于1950年代,由香港政府推出的长俸公务员房屋福利计划,由政府以特惠价格批地予合作社兴建,公务员可以拥有楼宇业权。计划直至1980年代中期才永久取消。期间先后成立了238个合作社,单位数目达5,000多个。
