格特鲁德·韦弗

盖恩斯于1898年7月4日生于阿肯色州拉法叶县的一个非裔佃农家庭[6][7]。盖恩斯在1915年7月18日与坚尼·韦弗结婚（Gennie Weaver，1898年7月18日－1969年7月11日），育有四个子女[8]，丈夫在1969年去世。韦弗在116岁生日时，只有一位儿子在她死后仍然在世（当时他93岁）[6][9]。

104岁时韦弗的臀部受伤后，她入住康登的一间老人院。康复后，韦弗能使用轮椅到自己的家和帮助她的孙女。109岁时，韦弗重新入住该老人院。韦弗的健康逐渐衰退，但她115岁时仍然可以离开自己的房间去吃东西和活动[10]。韦弗没有任何慢性病和健康问题，其年龄也没有受到任何质疑。她的睡眠定息准时，从不吸烟及酗酒[11]。

2015年4月6日，韦弗因肺炎在老人院逝世[17]。韦弗是最后几位生于1890年代的人之一[18]。
