比利·乔尔（英语：英语：Billy Joel），全名威廉·马丁·比利·乔尔（英语：William Martin "Billy" Joel，1949年5月9日—） 是一位美国歌手、钢琴演奏家，唱作人。

比利·乔尔于1949年5月9日在美国布朗克斯区出生[7][8]，童年时生活在纽约希克斯维勒的郊区[9]。比利的父亲霍华德·乔尔是一个古典音乐钢琴家，是出生于德国的犹太裔人。霍华德后来移居到瑞士，之后来到美国[9]。比利的母亲罗莎琳德·尼曼，出生于英国一个犹太家庭。罗莎琳德和霍华德·乔尔于1957年离婚，霍华德移居到维也纳。比利·乔尔有一个姐姐朱迪思·乔尔，和一个同父异母的弟弟亚历山大·乔尔，是一个古典音乐的指挥家[10]。
在母亲的鼓励下，小时候的比利开始学习钢琴。他的导师包括著名的美国钢琴家Morton Estrin[11]及音乐家Timothy Ford。作为一个少年人，比利接受了拳击训练，令他可以保护自己[12]。他成功地在“金拳套”业余比赛中赢了22个回合，于第24个回合他被击断鼻梁，不久之后他放弃了这项运动[13]。

比利·乔尔就读于希克斯维勒高中直到1967年，不过，他并没有完成他的学业。母亲入不敷支，于是，他去了一个钢琴酒吧工作，帮补家计。这影响到他参加课堂的机会。有一次，因为前一晚深夜他在钢琴酒吧里演出，他错过了一个关键的英语考试[14]。虽然比利是一个上进的学生，在高中三年级那年年底，他没有足够的学分令他毕业。比利没有参加暑期班以完成学业，而决定开始音乐生涯：“我告诉他们，管它呢！我不打算进入哥伦比亚大学，我要去哥伦比亚唱片公司，在那里你不需要高中文凭[15]。”比利最终与哥伦比亚签署唱片合约。二十五年后的1992年，他提交论文给母校的学校董事会，经过评核之后，于毕业典礼上获得他的文凭[16]。
