沉船

失事船舶的残骸

沉船轮船沉没后的残骸,可因海难、军事行动等原因做成。1999年1月,有研究估计全球有约三百万艘沉船[1],并获联合国教育、科学及文化组织[2][3]及其他组织支持[4]

泰坦尼克号船首,于1985年首次发现

较有历史的沉船常受沉船考古学研究,以便了解当地的民土风情。沉船亦为休闲潜水的常见目的地。部分沉船上则有贵重货物可供打捞。超过一百年的沉船受联合国教科文组织水下文化遗产保护公约英语UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage保护[5]
