白乐思
美国的语言学家
罗伯特·安德鲁·白乐思（英语：Robert Andrew Blust，1940年5月9日—2022年1月5日），又译白乐斯，生于美国俄亥俄州辛辛那堤，语言学家与人类学家。研究领域涵括历史语言学、辞书学，以及民族学等方面。白氏特别专精于南岛语系，也对南岛语言学方面作出相当大的贡献。

白乐思生于美国俄亥俄州辛辛那堤，成长于加利福尼亚州。在夏威夷大学马诺阿分校获得人类学学士，于1974年再获得语言学博士学位。他生前为荣任教授，任教于夏威夷大学马诺阿分校语言学系，2005年至2008年担任系主任。
2022年1月5日，白乐思因不敌癌症病魔所扰，病逝于美国夏威夷州檀香山，享寿81岁。
南岛语系 编辑
他亦担任大洋洲语言学期刊审核编辑，此期刊为一份涵盖南岛语系方面的学术期刊。白氏知名于南岛语系方面的研究，完成的著作有一大部“南岛语系比较词典”(Blust 1995c)，及一部“邵语词典”(Blust 2003b)。其他比较有名的著作为2009年出版的“南岛语系学”，这是一本仅有单一作者、且涵盖语言学各方面论述（音韵学、语法学、构词学、音变学、分类学等）的南岛语系大部头书籍。
田野工作 编辑
于97年开始白乐思就进行语音学田野方面的工作，诸如在砂拉越、巴布亚新几内亚，以及台湾等地区。在台湾，他完成一些台湾南岛语言的田野工作，诸如邵语、噶玛兰语、巴宰语、阿美语、排湾语，以及赛夏语等诸语种。他所出版的高度濒危语言邵语的词典、是在目前所出版的南岛语词典里属于较为完整及内容丰富的著作，此部“邵语词典”有 1,106 页。 白氏不但在语言学，也在神话彩虹及龙的文化面向都有高度的兴趣。
