阿扎尼亚
阿扎尼亚（古希腊语：Ἀζανία）是一个应用于东南热带非洲地区的名称[1]。在罗马时期或更早之前，这个地名是指从肯尼亚[2]延伸到坦桑尼亚以南的东南非海岸的一部分。该地区居住着南部库什派人口，直到班图人扩张[3]。
老普林尼提到了一个“阿扎尼亚海”，它始于阿杜利斯古城周围，并围绕非洲南部海岸延伸。后来提到阿扎尼亚的西方作家包括克劳狄乌斯·托勒密和科斯马斯·印第科普尔斯茨。
公元1世纪，希腊的《爱利脱利亚海周航记》首先根据作者对该地区的深入了解而描述了阿扎尼亚。航行记的第15章表明，阿扎尼亚可能是现今索马里南部的沿海地区[4]。而第16章则清楚地描述了位于阿扎尼亚七次航行结束时位于普拉利安群岛南部的拉普他古城是“阿扎尼亚最南端的古城”。随后，到公元10世纪，这些原始的“阿扎尼亚人”已被早期的班图族定居者所取代[5]。
