钙板藻片

钙板藻片(英语:coccolith)又称球石片颗石藻片颗石粒钙板金藻(海洋中的一类单细胞藻类,如赫氏圆石藻)经生物矿化产生的胞外硬壳,其成分为碳酸钙[1][2]

钙板金藻死后,钙板藻片会沉入海底,为深海沉积物的重要组成部分。此结构最早于1858年由托马斯·亨利·赫胥黎在海底沉积物中发现并命名[3][4]。英国多佛白色悬崖的碳酸钙沉积主要来源即为钙板藻片[5]
