鹦鹉总科
鳥綱鸚形目下的一個總科
鹦鹉总科（学名：Psittacoidea）是一个鹦鹉目下的总科。[2]该总科为狭义上的鹦鹉，英文俗称“真鹦鹉”（True parrot），可视为在2013—2014年拆分前的金刚鹦鹉科，目前包含已绝灭的物种在内共囊括了91属382种鹦鹉。[3][4][5]

这个总科是鹦鹉目三个总科中（另外两种是鸮面鹦鹉总科及凤头鹦鹉总科）下分支演化出最多物种的一个总科。[6]其中鸮面鹦鹉总科是最为基础的枝干，它们约在8200万年前分支；而凤头鹦鹉总科则是在约5900—5000万年前的始新世时期开始脱离鹦鹉总科分化的。[6][7]而鹦鹉总科本身则约在4070万年前，当澳大利亚从南极洲和南美洲西侧分离时，开始分化成金刚鹦鹉科及鹦鹉科的。[7]
