蜚蠊总科

蜚蠊总科（学名：Blattoidea）是蜚蠊目之下的一个分类，包含了原来等翅目的所有物种，例如约二千多个物种的白蚁（Termites）。

分类问题、演化史与关系

在波罗的海发现的琥珀内的古时蟑螂，4至5千万年前存在。

蜚蠊目物种的演化关系图，Eggleton, Beccaloni & Inward (2007)著。属于蟑螂的辉蠊科（Lamproblattidae）与工蠊科（Tryonicidae）没有在图内标示，但两科均属于蜚蠊总科（Blattoidea）。鳖蠊科（Corydiidae，旧称隆背蜚蠊科Polyphagidae）及姬蜚蠊科（Ectobiidae，旧称Blattellidae）。

白蚁原来被分类到等翅目，而蜚蠊目则只有蟑螂。在2007年，Beccaloni & Eggleton (2007)及随后的遗传及系谱发生学研究(Legendre et al. 2008; Ware et al. 2008; Cameron et al. 2012; Djernaes et al. 2012; Xiao et al. 2012)显示，原来白蚁是由蟑螂演化出来的。从此，白蚁成为了蜚蠊目蜚蠊总科之下的白蚁领科（Epifamily Termitoidae）。

其余的蟑螂物种大致可以分成两个领科。不过这个分类的具体内容到现在其实还有争议，争议主要是环绕这些领科其实会否升格成为下目会更合适。例如：有分类直接把原来白蚁所属的等翅目降格成为等翅下目，直接放到蜚蠊目之下，蜚蠊总科之上。

虽然本总科的拉丁学名应该根据整个系列最古老的名字称作Termitoidea Latreille, 1802，但由于Blattoidea这个名字的使用率非常普遍，所以原作者根据ICZN守则的第35.5条保留了Blattoidea Latreille, 1810这个名称。

布鲁斯（Charles Thomas Brues）和梅兰德（Axel Leonard Melander）根据翅的有无及其特征、变态类型、口器的构造、触角形状、跗节及古昆虫（化石昆虫）的特征等来进行的分类（Classification of Insects, 2d, rev. ed., 1954），蜚蠊总科 Blattoidea包括有：

• 原蜚蠊科 Archiblattidæ
• 穴蜚蠊科 Nocticolodæ
• 旋翅蜚蠊科 Oulopterygidæ
