Google Workspace 包之一。 通过该包可创建及编辑文档(.gdoc[2])、表格(.gsheet[3])、幻灯片(.slides[4])等多项文件，并保存于Google Drive，文件编辑操作通过浏览器完成。

于 2012 年 4 月 24 日发布[5][6]。该产品最早提及于2006年3月。[7]

Google Drive 服务推出后，其隐私政策受到了部分媒体的严厉批评[8]。Google 有一套涵盖其所有服务的服务条款和隐私政策，这意味着该协议授予该公司广泛的权利，可以复制、使用Google 云端硬盘上存储的内容，并根据这些内容创建派生作品。

存储方案修订 编辑

早期的 Google 云端硬盘，作为 Google One 的附加服务之一，于2018年5月前后推出[9]。 免费提供 15GB 存储空间。付费存储空间最大为 30TB[10]。提供类似Dropbox的目录管理，在Google Drive中称为Folder location，可同步上传文件到Google Drive中 。

2023年3月起，Google Drive云端硬盘空间里所存的资料最多只能有500万个文件。[11]

团队硬盘 编辑

Google团队网盘是Google网盘的一部分，用于团队向Google申请而来。团队网盘的空间非常大，总共有8EB。

2013年11月12日，谷歌宣布Google Drive拥有1.2亿活跃用户，这是该公司首次公布的数字[18]。

2014 年 6 月 25 日，在Google I/O开发者大会上，桑达尔·皮查伊宣布 Google Drive 目前拥有 1.9 亿月活跃用户，58% 的财富 500 强公司以及 72 家美国公司都在使用它。顶尖大学。[19]

Google Drive 适用于 Windows XP、Windows Vista、Windows 7、Windows 10、Mac OS X Lion（10.7）以及Snow Leopard（10.6）、Android智能手机与平板电脑（Android 2.1以上）、 iPhone和iPad（iOS 5.0以上）等的设备。[24]

InSync 提供 Google Drive 的 Linux 及 MacOS 版本。[25]

Google 云端硬盘 服务将集成至Chrome OS版本20中。[26]

2017年7月，Google宣布了新的Windows和macOS的客户端“Google备份和同步（Backup and Sync）”[27]，可以让用户电脑上的文件与Google云端硬盘同步，并且不占用Google云端硬盘的配额空间[28][29]。

Google文档 编辑

原本的Google文档（Google Docs）已集成至Google云端硬盘。所有Google文档都会显示在Google云端硬盘中。Google云端硬盘支持在浏览器中直接开启影片，以及Adobe Photoshop等数十种文件类型。

注意：1.在新版Google Drive电脑版下，用户下载的文件如果是Google Docs的文件时，会被自动转换成Microsoft Office的开放格式档(Google Docs -> Word(.docx))，如果要下载成上述非Office的文件，请开启该文件并在[文件]中选择下载格式 2.Microsoft Office的.doc, .xls, .ppt文件在新版的移动应用程序Google Docs, Sheets, Slides中已经无法编辑后存储，只能另存1个的文件
