M41
M41（又称NGC 2287）是位于大犬座的一个疏散星团，它是意大利天文学家乔瓦尼·巴蒂斯塔·奥迪耶纳早在1654年以前就发现的星团，而且亚里士多德有可能在前325年就知道它的存在[4]。

性质 编辑
M41几乎就位于天狼星的正南方，相距仅仅只有4度左右，并且大犬座μ2构成一个三角形，并且使用双筒望远镜可以在视野中同时看见这三个天体。这个星团涵盖的区域大约与满月相当 [5]，包含百余颗恒星，其中有几颗是红巨星，还有一些白矮星。最亮的一颗靠近星团的中心，视星等为6.3等，是光谱类型为K3的巨星[6][7][8]。估计这个团正以每秒23.3公里的速度远离地球[1]。这个星团的直径在25-26光年，年龄大约是1亿9000万年，但是依据星团的属性和动态，认为这个星团的寿命大约只有5亿年，而在这之前就会瓦解[3]。
沃尔特·史考特·休斯顿用小望远镜描述了这个星团的外观[9]：
许多目视观测者表示看见M41的恒星形成曲线。它们在照片中虽然不显眼，但在我的10吋反射望远镜这些曲线却很明显，而且靠近星团中心的亮红色恒星非常突出。
