This template generates an external link to the French Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) for a specific airport. These links change every 28 days and the template calculates the correct URL based on the current date.

1. (unnamed) – airport's ICAO location indicator, i.e. LFMN
2. name (optional) – airport's location, i.e. NICE CÔTE D'AZUR (location and bold print are as shown in the AIP). Most airports show two locations: the first is the city served, second is the city where the airport is located.

Short version (used in airport lists):

• Usage: {{AIP_FR|LFMN}}
• Result: LFMN

Long version (used in airport articles):

• Usage: {{AIP_FR|LFMN|name='''NICE''' CÔTE D'AZUR}}

2. (unnamed) – AIP directory

   • PAC-N – 新喀里多尼亚，瓦利斯和富图纳

Technical information

The AIP is updated on a 28天的周期 as per the ICAO. For the online version of the French AIPs this causes a change in the URL involving the AIRAC effective date formatted as YYYY-MM-DD. This template uses the current date (presently 2024年5月9日) to calculate the effective date. The following is a list for the current and upcoming AIRAC cycles:

• 2024-04-18 — 2024年4月18日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2405)
• 2024-05-16 — 2024年5月16日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2406)
• 2024-06-13 — 2024年6月13日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2407)
• 2024-07-11 — 2024年7月11日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2408)
• 2024-08-08 — 2024年8月8日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2409)
• 2024-09-05 — 2024年9月5日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2410)
• 2024-10-03 — 2024年10月3日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2411)
• 2024-10-31 — 2024年10月31日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2412)
• 2024-11-28 — 2024年11月28日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2413)
• 2024-12-26 — 2024年12月26日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2501)
• 2025-01-23 — 2025年1月23日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2502)
• 2025-02-20 — 2025年2月20日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2503)
• 2025-03-20 — 2025年3月20日生效 (AIRAC cycle 2504)

If this template stops working, the most likely reason is that the URL format has changed. To find the current format, go to the Aeronautical Information Publications page of the Service d'information aéronautique (SIA) website and view the AIP for an airport.

• The current format for airports in France is https://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/dvd/eAIP_18_APR_2024/FRANCE/AIRAC-2024-04-18/html/eAIP/FR-AD-2.LFMN-fr-FR.html, where 2024-04-18 is the current effective date and LFMN is the airport's ICAO location indicator.

• The current format for airports in French overseas territories is https://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/dvd/eAIP_18_APR_2024/PAC-P/AIRAC-2024-04-18/html/eAIP/FR-AD-2.NTAA-fr-FR.html, where 2024-04-18 is the current effective date, NTAA is the airport's ICAO location indicator and PAC-P is used for airports in French Polynesia. Other possibilities here are CAR-SAM-NAM for French Antilles (Guadeloupe, Martinique), French Guiana, or Saint-Pierre and Miquelon; PAC-N for New Caledonia or Wallis and Futuna; RUN for Réunion or Mayotte.
