电子人工喉是一种大小与小型电动剃须刀类似的医疗设备,而且由电池供电。通常患者罹患喉癌后他们的喉部的会被切除,因而无法发声。此时他们在电子人工喉的帮助下可以发声说话。电子人工喉要放置在下颌骨附近的皮肤上,等到它产生振动后,患者就能正常说话了[1]。在电子人工喉出现之前也有类似的医疗设备,人们称之为机械人工喉[2][3]
