故事大綱

身患絕症的左翼作家倫納德·法伊夫為躲避越戰徵兵抽籤（英語：Draft evasion in the Vietnam War），逃到加拿大。臨終前，倫納德委託紀錄片電影馬爾科姆和戴安娜記錄他的遺言。但事實上倫納德生活窘迫，記憶扭曲，不是可靠敘事者[4][5]。

劇組獲美國演員工會豁免，可以在演員工會大罷工期間拍攝。2023年9月，主體拍攝正式啟動，至同年10月結束，歷時三個星期[6][7]。2023年12月，消息指克莉絲汀·弗洛賽斯、米高·伊派里奧里和烏瑪·瑟曼加盟劇組[8][9][10]。因薪水較低，羅伯特·德尼羅婉拒演出機會，由基爾接任[11]。與施拉德在《牧師的最後誘惑（英語：First Reformed）》中有過合作的弧光影業（Arclight Films）同意參與本片融資，負責在歐洲電影市場期間銷售影片[12]。
