Android 15的第一個開發者預覽版於2024年2月16日發布[6]，第二個開發者預覽版於2024年3月21日發布[7]。

功能

第一個開發者預覽版的文檔中提到，Android 15將引入以下功能[6]：

  • 敏感通知
  • 通知冷卻時間

愛好者們發現了其它正在開發的功能，這些功能可能會在以後的開發者預覽版本中發布，例如重新引入鎖屏小部件（該功能在Android 4.2中引入，但在Android 5.0中被刪除）[8]。情況相似的還有電池健康狀況測定、應用程序存檔、語音激活、私人空間和應用程序配對[9][10]以及桌面模式下優化的多任務/窗口等[11]。

第二個開發者預覽版增加了更多功能，包括改進與衛星通信的兼容性、改進內置PDF閱讀器以及對應用程序存檔的支持等[12][13]。

Beta 1的發布增加了更多功能，例如應用程序能夠從邊到邊縮放並在屏幕頂​​部和底部繪製半透明系統欄、對第三方應用程序上的應用程序存檔和取消存檔的操作系統級支持商店、更好的盲文支持、聯繫人密鑰的端到端加密以及許多其他新的開發人員功能[14]。

Android 15增加了對ISO 21496-1增益映射（Gain Map）HDR圖像格式標準的支持，該格式與SDR顯示屏兼容，並可同時進行Ultra HDR標準的編碼和解碼。蘋果公司從iOS 18開始也支持ISO 21496-1（蘋果稱為自適應 HDR），因此能使HDR圖像實現跨平台兼容。[18]。
