拉奧拿1967年出生於意大利南部薩萊諾的下諾切拉。一歲那年，他和父母搬到了荷蘭的賀利舒查姆。 [3]他的父親在那開了一家生意紅火的餐館，拉奧拿早年就在那做服務員。 [4]他之後獲得了高中文憑，上了兩年大學，並進入了法學院。 [5]他會說意大利語、英語、德語、西班牙語、法語、葡萄牙語和荷蘭語共七種語言。[6]
