弗里曼·威尔斯·克罗夫茨(英语:Freeman Wills Crofts,1879年6月1日—1957年4月11日)是爱尔兰的一名推理作家,他于1920年推出的《桶子》,同年谋杀天后阿加莎·克里斯蒂推出《史岱尔庄谋杀案》,两人因此被称为推理小说黄金时期的推手。

生平简介
编辑弗里曼·威尔斯·克罗夫茨出生于爱尔兰的一个小农场,父亲是随军的外科医生,在克劳夫兹出世前就已经逝世,母亲后来与一位牧师再婚。克劳夫兹17岁开始接触铁路工程,1900年成为了地区的工程师,克劳夫兹的工程师身份一直至1929年。克劳夫兹的写作生涯始于1919年,他因为大病被逼放下铁路工程的工作,这段时期写了他的第一本小说,他于1920年发表了《桶子》,《桶子》出版后旋即获得空前畅销,此后几乎每年克劳夫兹都写一本小说,另加一些短篇小说和戏剧。
