俯衝極性反轉
俯衝極性反轉(英語:subducation polarity reversal) 是指在會聚邊界,兩個板塊互換角色的地質過程:即上覆板塊成為下降板塊,反之亦然 [1]。例如蘇俄太平洋堪察加半島[2]、印度尼西亞韋塔島 [3]等地皆報道有俯衝極性反轉地質過程。
俯衝極性反轉的成因是當兩大洋板塊碰撞時發生,密度較高的大洋板塊往下俯衝,另一塊則覆蓋在下降的板塊之上。 如果俯衝的大洋板塊上帶有大陸地殼,當大陸地殼邊緣被俯衝板塊帶到俯衝帶時,因大陸地殼質輕具浮力,不能向下俯衝,就造成板塊的俯衝變得更慢,甚至可能停止後再進行俯衝極性反轉[4][5].
