阿不思与斯科皮发现他们被带回到哈利父母被杀的前一天晚上，并假设德爾菲计划在伏地魔试图杀害哈利之前就这样做。阿不思与斯科皮在哈利的婴儿毯上写了一道看不见的讯息，他们得知现在该毯子因沾上了迷情剂并把讯息暴露，该讯息内容为：“爸爸。帮助。戈德里克山谷。31/10/1981。”。
