欧洲日
在欧洲，欧洲日是庆祝欧洲和平和统一的纪念日，它包括两个完全不同定义的纪念日：5月5日纪念欧洲委员会成立，5月9日纪念欧洲联盟（EU）计划的提出。 [1] 对欧盟而言，这一天也被称为舒曼日，以纪念法国外交部长罗伯特·舒曼提出舒曼计划的日子。 [2]

欧洲日是欧盟机构雇员的公众假期[3]。2019年，卢森堡将欧洲日订为公众假期[4]，也是科索沃的公众假期[5]。在克罗地亚是“阵亡将士纪念日”，这是一个法律承认的纪念日，但不是公众假期[6][7]；在立陶宛也是法律认可的纪念日[8]。德国联邦法令将这天定为“国旗飘扬日”（Beflaggungstag），要求在该日展示国旗[9]。罗马尼亚也庆祝欧洲日[10]，此日恰逢罗马尼亚国家独立日[11]。
从2003年到2023年，乌克兰在五月的第三个星期六庆祝欧洲日。2023年5月8日，乌克兰总统弗拉基米尔·泽连斯基颁布法令[12]，将5月9日从胜利日改为欧洲日，与欧盟成员国一起庆祝[13][14][15][16]。
