历史编辑

2016年10月，皇家加勒比集团与芬兰位于土库的迈尔图尔库（英语：Meyer Turku）造船厂（Meyer Turku）共同宣布了一项订单，以项目名称“Icon”来建造两艘船^[10]。这些船舶预计将于2023年第三季度和2025年交付^[11]^[12]，并由挪威船级社给予评级^[13]。

同一年，皇家加勒比集团申请并注册了"Icon of the Seas"这一个商标^[14]。
