2023年10月，该公司参与的《心灵杀手2》推出后，在游戏论坛Kiwi Farms（英语：Kiwi Farms）上受到一名用户的批评，称是“游戏史上最大的丑闻之一”[21]。类似的抨击也出现在4chan和Reddit等论坛。[22]此类批评在2024年1月一名Steam玩家列出“避开Sweet Baby公司参与过的觉醒文化游戏列表”后剧增[3][21][23][24]，此后连埃隆·马斯克等人也批评Sweet Baby，马斯克称其“就是游戏行业的祸害，他们能做的就是让游戏变糟糕，劝退玩家”。[25][26]

2024年6月9日，有中国大陆微博用户“兲虎”声称，Sweet Baby裹挟要求《黑神话：悟空》的发行商游戏科学勒索700万美元，经国外媒体、推主转发后引发激烈讨论，很多网民借此机会抨击Sweet Baby倡导的“觉醒文化”毁掉了很多游戏。[27][28]曾撰文抨击游科、支持Sweet Baby公司的IGN记者Rebekah Valentine则对此传闻表示否认。[29]
