陈长谦（英语：Sunney Ignatius Chan，1936年10月5日—），美国华裔生物物理化学家，主要研究各种核磁共振波谱法及其他物理化学技术在分析各种生物化学及生物问题中的运用。

早年经历 编辑
1936年10月5日，陈长谦在旧金山出生，父母都是中国南方来的移民[1][2]。陈长谦在香港完成初等教育后回美国，就读于旧金山大学[1][3]，不久后转学到加利福尼亚大学柏克莱分校，获化学系学士及博士学位[1][3]。1961年，他在物理化学家威廉·杜兰尼·格温（William Dulaney Gwinn）的指导下完成博士研究，获得博士学位[4]。
学术生涯 编辑
博士毕业后，陈长谦在诺贝尔物理学奖得主、哈佛大学教授诺曼·拉姆齐的实验室进行了为期一年的博士后研究工作，之后回到加州，加入了加利福尼亚大学河滨分校化学系[1]。自1963年起，陈长谦在加州理工学院任教[5]，五年后获得古根海姆奖[6]。在加州理工学院任教期间，陈长谦或得了美国物理学会会士（1987年）、中央研究院院士（1988年）、美国科学促进会（1992年）等殊荣[7]，1992年当选加州理工学院首届George Grant Hoag生物物理化学荣誉讲座教授[8]，1997年荣休，任中央研究院荣誉院士[5]。此后又获中央研究院院长李远哲提名为副院长[5][9]。2002年，获加州理工学院荣休教授[10]。2003年7月卸任中央研究院副院长[11]，中研院院长李远哲设立荣誉讲座，作为纪念[9]。此后继续担任研究员及访问学者，直至2015年[5]。学术生涯后期还担任国立台湾大学和国立中兴大学的特聘教授[5]。
