2016年英国工党党魁选举
2016年工党党魁选举（英语：2016 Labour Party leadership election）缘由于2015年9月杰里米·科尔宾当选工党党魁后，反对者批评他在英国去留欧盟公投中争取留欧没有给予大力支持而作出的挑战[3]。

科尔宾领导的紧张时期间，英国公民公投决定离开欧盟，影子内阁外交大臣希拉里·本恩随即因为曾表示不信任科尔宾而在6月25日被解职[4]；随后两天影子内阁多名成员相继辞职[5]，国会工党议员中亦有172名议员支持对他发起不信任投票，仅有40名支持科尔宾[6]。据工党副党魁汤姆·沃特森称[7]，他曾向科尔宾指出其作为领导者的地位将面临挑战，但科尔宾表示不会辞职[8]。
6月下旬时，安吉拉·伊格尔和欧文·史密斯相继被指出有兴趣参选党魁：伊格尔于7月11日宣布参选[9][10]；而史密斯于7月13日作出同样举动[11]。中央行政委员会之后决定作为现任党魁的科尔宾将自动参加是次选举，毋须经国会工党议员提名[12]。此前一些政治分析人士预测，科尔宾如果不能自动参选，将很难获得提名的必要数量[13]。
7月19日伊格尔退出选举，剩下史密斯与科尔宾两人竞逐党魁[14]。伊格尔指出，她在获得较少提名后就决定改为支持史密斯；而史密斯则在BBC的访谈中透露伊格尔是一位“明星”，如果他胜出选举，伊格尔将会是（他的）右手[15][16]。
