兰开斯特轰炸机

兰开斯特轰炸机（英语：Avro Lancaster）是英国于二次世界大战期间非常重要的战略轰炸机之一，担负对德国城市的夜间轰炸任务。在执行三处德国水坝的轰炸任务之后获得水坝克星（Dam Buster）的昵称。

英国皇家空军在1936年提出P.13/36双发动机中型轰炸机的设计案，爱芙罗公司提出以劳斯莱斯设计的秃鹰24汽缸发动机为动力的设计案，被称为曼彻斯特轰炸机。由于秃鹰发动机的测试过程相当不顺，爱芙罗提议以4具劳斯莱斯的梅林发动机加上曼彻斯特的机体结合而成新的轰炸机。实际上，1941年1月试飞的第一架原型机的机身，中段与尾部都是直接使用曼彻斯特的结构。

其机身结构尚称坚固，但其最大的缺点来自其设计上的问题。由于设计为负责晚间轰炸上(日间轰炸的伤亡率战争初期已经领教过)，这型轰炸机并未装设机腹炮塔(其实早期有，不过因为效果不大取消)，对于下方来的敌机，无法反击。德国空军(Luftwaffe)的夜间战机部队很快就就发现这项弱点。他们往往从后下方接近此型机，然后利用倾斜式机炮摧毁此轰炸机。不过总括来说，夜间难以发现对方，即使能够，如果兰开斯特的机枪手能够提前发现，会避免开火及通知机长，然后机长会使用此型号较优越的机动性避开。在晚间，一旦脱离目视接触，便很难发现对方。即使有雷达等手段，仍然需要看见才可以开始攻击。在逃生方面，此型的逃生出口比较小，较难跳机逃生。但在炸弹承载量上可谓二战中数一数二，高达9500Kg载弹量令她远胜B-17和B-24，甚至略高于B-29。

Mk I是兰开斯特量产的第一型，使用梅林XX，22或者是24型发动机，一共生产3440架。

Mk I特别型

改良自Mk I，用来携带超过12000磅（5443公斤）的炸弹。

Mk II

这一型改用布里斯托尔大力士VI或者是XVI型发动机。一共生产320架。

Mk III

改回使用梅林28、38或224型发动机。一共生产3020架。

Mk III特别型

改良自Mk III，用以携带Upkeep水雷。

Mk VII

将机身上方的马丁炮塔与机尾的FM82炮塔调整位置，一共生产180架。

使用国家

英国是二战期间的使用国家，除了轰炸任务以外，也担任电子干扰和海上巡逻等其他种类的任务。

法国在二战之后使用兰开斯特到1960年代为止。

阿根廷自英国购入少量兰开斯特，成为他们唯一使用过的战略轰炸机。
