Active Desktop

Active Desktop（簡體中文版Windows中稱作「活動桌面」），是微軟在Windows 98開始引入的一項特性，通過Internet Explorer瀏覽器使用戶可以在桌面上放置一個或多個Web對象如網頁、圖片等。

活動桌面的構想是非常好的，用戶可以從桌面上就了解到諸如最新新聞、股市行情、天氣預報等信息，但這項功能對於當時的計算機來說的高資源占用使得這項功能被許多用戶遺忘在了角落。
