Go-go dancers

Go-go dancers是夜總會里僱傭取悅觀眾的舞者^[1]。Go-go舞蹈起源於1960年代初期，最早在位於法國Juan-les-Pins（英語：Juan-les-Pins）的酒吧Whisky a Gogo演出^[2]。後來，這家法國酒吧將名字授權給了位於西荷里活的搖滾俱樂部Whisky a Go Go（英語：Whisky a Go Go），該俱樂部於1964年1月開業，並選擇了這個名字來反映已經流行的go-go舞蹈熱潮^[3]。

在同志酒吧

2008年6月芝加哥驕傲遊行（英語：Chicago Pride Parade）上的go-go boy。

從1965年到1968年，許多同志酒吧有男go-go舞者，他們通常被稱為「go-go boys」，但之後設有go-go舞者的同志酒吧變少^[4]。到了1988年，go-go 舞蹈在同志酒吧再次時興，並且其趨勢保持至今。如今，在美國，尤其是在洛杉磯和紐約等大城市，男同性戀go-go舞者的存在更為普遍。與1960年代相比，在現今的夜店中，男性go-go舞者的數量比女性go-go舞者還要多^[4]。
