MUC7
位於4號人類染色體的基因
MUC7是智人的蛋白质编码基因的一部分,位于4号人类染色体的短臂[1],负责编码Mucin-7这一种蛋白质[2][3]。该蛋白的多肽链长度为377个氨基酸,分子量为39,159[4]。在其他动物,MUC7基因只见于大多数的胎盘动物;但在有袋类物种的基因却找不到[5]。
人类变异
编辑人类的基因携带有五个或六个串联重复版本;而在其他灵长类动物中,这个基因的重复次数,在大猩猩为4-5次,在黑猩猩为5次,猩猩属物种则为6-7次,猕猴为8-10次,狒狒属为10-11次,绿猴为11-12次[5]。根据一项2017年由美国纽约州立大学水牛城分校研究人员及其他机构合作,透过分析人类唾液中MUC7黏蛋白的演化过程,生物学家发现在大约15万年前,撒哈拉以南非洲的人类祖先曾与一种前所未知的原始人类有过基因交流;而这人种并不属于今人的人类、以及尼安德特人与丹尼索瓦人,可能是直立人的一支,被生物学家冠以“幽灵人种”(ghost species)的名称[6][7]。
