合成與反應

吡馬卡林可以3-乙醯基-4-羥基苯甲腈為原料,經多步反應製得。[2]它和二異丙氨基鋰在四氫呋喃中反應,可以得到4-氰基-2-[1-(1,2-二氫-2-氧亞基-1-吡啶基)-3-甲基-1,2-丁二烯基]苯酚鋰。[3]
