埃戈斯溪
土耳其河流
埃戈斯溪(古希臘語:Αἰγὸς Ποταμοί,羅馬化:Aigos Potamoi)或稱伊哥斯波塔米、山羊溪[1] 是塞斯托斯(土耳其語:Çanakkale Boğazı)東北方一條注入赫勒斯滂的小河的名字。[2]
公元前405年呂山德在此地戰役中率斯巴達軍全殲雅典艦隊,結束了伯羅奔尼撒戰爭。[3][4]現存4~5世紀錢幣可證明同名古希臘村莊的存在。[5]河流本身則位於古代色雷斯半島(古希臘語:Θρακικὴ Χερσόνησος,羅馬化:Thrakiké Chersónesos,拉丁語:Chersonesus Thracica,即今加里波利半島)。[1]
據包括老普林尼和亞里斯多德在內的古代史料記錄了公元前467年有一塊隕石落在了埃戈斯溪附近。據記載其為棕色,大小約為一輛馬車可裝載。在隕石墜落時還有彗星目擊報告,目前認為該彗星是哈雷彗星。這可能是歐洲最早的哈雷彗星記錄。[6][7]
