戰冠

印第安人的羽毛头饰

戰冠（英語：War bonnet）是北美洲大平原印第安人的一種羽毛頭飾，通常由族群內廣受尊敬者佩戴。

戰冠最初是平原印第安人作戰時佩戴的頭飾，隨後逐漸演變為部落儀式期間的典禮頭飾。戰冠的羽毛通常是鷹羽，鷹羽被許多平原印第安族群視為最為尊貴的象徵[1]，許多戰士一生中僅獲得兩到三根鷹羽的獎賞；當鷹羽數量較多時，就會被編織成戰冠頭飾。戰冠被印第安人在精神層面和政治層面賦予重要意義，成為族群內部廣受認可、享有盛名人士的專屬頭飾[2][3]。這類著名人士通常曾展現出無私而英勇的光榮行為，或是為族群的繁榮作出了重大貢獻。在大部分族群中，戰冠僅僅是部落內部的酋長和精神領袖的專屬頭飾。

在平原印第安人的傳統中，戰冠僅能由男人佩戴，女人另有其他種類的頭飾。但近年來，許多名望較高的原住民女性都被授予戰冠頭飾，作為榮譽的象徵[4]。

除了傳統的鷹羽戰冠外，平原印第安人另有其他種類的戰冠，如帶有野牛角、染色馬鬃和貓頭鷹羽的鹿皮戰冠，插有金雕尾羽的鹿皮或毛氈戰冠，以及羽毛排列鬆散、垂在兩側的鹿皮或毛氈戰冠[5]。

由於戰冠極具特色的外形，佩戴戰冠的平原印第安人在現代已經成為關於美洲原住民的典型刻板印象，被現代流行文化用以作為美洲原住民文化的象徵。但是，未經許可而唐突地佩戴戰冠的行為會被印第安人視為冒犯[6][7][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]。曾有非原住民在當地演出期間佩戴羽毛戰冠，招致美洲原住民的反對和批評。已經有多個音樂節的組織方禁止售賣和佩戴美洲原住民頭飾[7][12][14][15][16][17]。
