台湾羽球运动发展之研究(1945-2000) 编辑

Do you know the publication mentioned above? Available on the net and in libraries as NTC93-008-5267-N061.pdf. Starting on page 106, I guess there is starting the section about the Taiwanese Badminton Championships. I am not able to copy from the file, so I would need your help to check, if I added the correct Chinese name to the respective persons. Also, is it possible to extract a date, city and venue for the single years of the championships? Starting with https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q13503740. What the author is talking about starting on page 115? What in general is the header for the columns? Singles, Doubles, Venues? I guess, my Chinese translation of https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q27679656 is wrong? (that was the point, where I started to think about the correctness of my additions to Wikidata). • Maybe you can use web browser, like Chrome or Edge, to open the PDF file, and press [Ctrl + P] to open print form. Then you can copy text in the print form.
  • Where should I check the Chinese name? On Wikidata? I will check the Chiness name on Wikidata first.
  • The author doesn't provide the host city and venue of individual championships, but give these info of team championships.
  • wikidata:Q27679656: By comparing de wiki and PDF, "Juke Pao-Yuet" corresponds to "林秀琼", but they sound very different.
  • Below is header matching table of page 115:
届别 时间 男甲单打冠军 男甲双打冠军 男乙单打冠军 男乙双打冠军 女子单打冠军 女子双打冠军 混合双打冠军
number edition date tier 1 men's single champ tier 1 men's double champ tier 2 men's single champ tier 2 men's double champ women's single champ women's double champ mixed double champ
The word "甲" means tier 1 level, "乙" mean's tier 2. In Taiwanese badminton, we only focus on tier 1 champion. Women's single, double and mixed double only have one level. --Terry850324留言2024年2月7日 (三) 08:19 (UTC)回复
(~)Addition: I have check all champions' Chinese name listed in de:Taiwanische Badmintonmeisterschaft. I think Chinese names are correct, but below champions on De wiki differs from the PDF:
Thanks a lot. Yes, comparing Chinese names on Wikidata would be helpful. The list/names on dewiki I took from the IBF handbook - and there are sometimes errors in the handbook. What is the difference between the tables an pages 106 and 115? And are there also mentioned other championships (juniors, teams, national games)? The Chinese Taipei Open I already found in the PDF. --Florentyna留言2024年2月7日 (三) 10:08 (UTC)回复
Page 106 to 114: 1st - 3rd place of team championships from 1955 to 2000. Page 115 to 122: individual championships winner. Each column from page 106 to 114:
届别 时间 地点 男子甲组前三名 男子乙组前三名 女子组前三名 备注(各组参加队数)
number edition date place/venue tier 1 men's team 1st - 3rd place tier 2 men's team 1st - 3rd place women's team 1st - 3rd place remark (number of participating teams)
The junior championships haven't been mentioned in the PDF. --Terry850324留言2024年2月8日 (四) 03:57 (UTC)回复

So I translated now de:Taiwanische Badminton-Mannschaftsmeisterschaft. If you can have a look on it to find possible strange translations it would be very much appreciated. --Florentyna留言2024年2月9日 (五) 13:47 (UTC)回复

Great work, I did not expect, that so much stupidities were translated. --Florentyna留言2024年2月10日 (六) 07:51 (UTC)回复
Don't mind. In my opinion, Pinyin is much better than translating the meaning in most of the cases above, unless we can find their official English names (Most teams do not exist nowadays). --Terry850324留言2024年2月10日 (六) 08:08 (UTC)回复
