催产素酶Oxytocinase)是一种可以代谢催产素[1]。最著名的催产素酶是Leucyl-cystinyl氨肽酶英语leucyl/cystinyl aminopeptidase[1][2],本身也是脑啡肽酶,已知也有其他的催产素酶[1][3]。怀孕时,催产素酶可以平衡催产素的浓度,因为随著胎儿成长,胎儿分泌的催产素会增加,催产素酶会分解胎儿分泌的催产素,以维持平衡[2]。有研究发现催产素酶的浓度会随胎龄渐渐增加,直到分娩为止,因此胎儿的发育可以用催产素酶浓度进行评估[4]

抑制剂

阿吗他定英语Amastatin短整合蛋白英语lebestatin(ubenimex)及嘌呤霉素英语puromycin都可以抑制催产素的代谢,不过他们也会抑制其他多肽(像是后叶加压素甲硫脑素英语met-enkephalin强啡肽英语dynorphin A等)的分解,[5][3][6]EDTA、L-甲硫氨酸邻二氮菲磷酸阿米酮英语phosphoramidon也会抑制催产素的代谢[7]
