CaBIG
caBIG(cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid,癌症生物医学信息网格)是一个开放源码,可自由访问的系统,建立caBIG的目的是是使癌症研究人员之间有一个安全的数据交换信息网络。这一项目最初由美国国家癌症研究所(美国国立卫生研究院的一部分)倡议,并由其属下的生物医学信息学和信息技术中心(CBIIT)提供支持与维护[1]。
项目起源
编辑2004年美国国家癌症研究所(NCI)启动了caBIG(癌症生物医学信息网格)计划。该计划的目的是统合位于不同地方、从事癌症相关生物医药研究的各个部门的资源,从而使获得的数据类型多元化。该计划由生物信息学和信息技术中心(CBIIT)牵头,最初进行了3年的试运行,以测试其可行性。2007年3月试运行阶段结束。目前,在56个NCI的指定癌症中心进行着caBIG工具软件源码的的试验和应用。
