Tool of the week
- Wikidata periodic table - Tool by User:Ricordisamoa, to browse all chemical elements available on Wikidata, with atomic number, chemical symbol, and localized label. It also includes two charts of the nuclides, with links to every isotope in Wikidata, colored by half-life or decay mode.
Other Noteworthy Stuff
- A new UI mode is available for the online validator for EntitySchemas. It represents validation reports as a table rather than a very long string, and replaces most links with hyperlinks with some of the text behind them; making them easier to read. Currently being tested at https://shex-validator.toolforge.org/packages/shex-webapp/doc/shex-simple-improved.html, we are looking for participants to evaluate this tool. Some experience with editing Wikidata is appreciated, but no experience working with Schemas is required. If you are interested, you can sign up here. We hope to begin interviews around May 13. Feedback invited on Procedure for Sibling Project Lifecycle
Dear community members,
The Community Affairs Committee (CAC) of the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees invites you to give feedback on a draft Procedure for Sibling Project Lifecycle. This draft Procedure outlines proposed steps and requirements for opening and closing Wikimedia Sibling Projects, and aims to ensure any newly approved projects are set up for success. This is separate from the procedures for opening or closing language versions of projects, which is handled by the Language Committee or closing projects policy.
You can find the details on this page, as well as the ways to give your feedback from today until the end of the day on June 23, 2024, anywhere on Earth.
You can also share information about this with the interested project communities you work with or support, and you can also help us translate the procedure into more languages, so people can join the discussions in their own language.

今天下午，有用户在求闻百科发布文章《何谓“中国价值观基础上的客观观点”？简谈维基式“中立”的虚伪》。作者在修订历史中被移除了用户名，在页面中署名为与“求闻”谐音的“邱文”。

你能去改日文维基，就已经算是很了不起了。维基正在系统性地封禁VPN等代理使用的IP地址，也就是说，你翻过墙后可以用所有网站，维基也能用，但有很大概率，你还没开始编辑，你就会被提示你的IP被禁止编辑了。换言之，你还没等着去这个“可以自由发表观点的平台”发表你的观点，你的嘴就被堵上了。

维基另一种对欧美保守派的打压方法跟中国大陆的用户的办法有几分相似，即抬高编辑门槛。具体而言，对中国大陆的用户则是封禁代理IP地址，而对年龄普遍更大的保守派则是“wikitext”等编辑代码，维基软件的各种“弯路”也更难让年长者适应。这些都是直接在最开始就“劝退”潜在用户的方式，直接从源头处“解决遇到问题的人”。

- 看了这篇文章，感觉下一段话值得注意。
再说欧美，欧美国家内部也有左右之分，而英文维基则屡屡被欧美立场偏右、偏保守派的媒体攻击“不中立”。如特斯拉的CEO马斯克就对维基上自己的传记条目感到极其不满。2023年9月，当他跟立场同样偏右的以色列总理内塔尼亚胡见面时，两人一起调侃自己的条目被立场偏左、偏自由派的维基编者给写得不堪卒读。英国《每日电讯报》评论员曾引用维基百科创始人之一的拉里·桑格（Larry Sanger）的话，形容英文维基上奥巴马的条目“甜蜜亲昵”（honeyed）、“没有丑闻”（scandal-free），而特朗普的条目则“尖酸刻薄”（peppery）。换言之，外文母语者（甚至维基创始人）自己都不认为外文维基百科是“中立”的。佐藤们和桑格们只能徒劳地喊上一喊。
- 这段话对巴勒斯坦人的屠夫内塔尼亚胡大加赞赏，并指控维基百科中对其罪行的客观揭露是左翼宣传，不知道的还以为内塔尼亚胡对巴勒斯坦人很友好呢。我从来都没有见过有中共支持者为以色列政府在巴勒斯坦暴行洗白的，据我所知，持这种立场的多数是曹科长这类右翼自由派。另外求闻百科在这篇文章中还只举了美英右翼对维基百科不中立批评的例子，而没有举欧盟右翼对维基百科不中立批评的例子，试图营造“美英右翼就能代表西方右翼”的虚像，这也是右翼自由派的老技俩了，毕竟与美英左翼和右翼差不多反华不同，欧盟左翼是有亲华倾向的，比如不屈法国的创始人梅朗雄批评佩洛西窜访台湾，现德国总理的德国社会民主党员朔尔茨支持重启中欧全面投资协定，德国左翼党议会副领袖塞维姆·达代伦批评现任欧盟委员会主席的德国基民盟党员乌尔苏拉·冯德莱恩呼吁欧盟采取政策挑战中国，莎拉·瓦根克内希特联盟领袖莎拉·瓦根克内希特称赞中国经济和产业政策，右翼自由主义者喜欢在对中共支持者的宣传中只举美国右翼的例子，不举欧洲右翼的例子，只是希望采取诱饵和开关策略，以并不相对美英左翼更加反华的美英右翼作为“诱饵”，以相对欧盟左翼更加反华的欧盟右翼作为“开关”，吸引中共支持者走向反华立场罢了。所以说，求闻百科大概率只是像这样的右翼自由派扛着红旗反红旗的工具罢了。--Zupspim（留言） 2024年5月6日 (一) 13:14 (UTC)

- 使用爱企查、企查查和天眼查可以查到，求闻百科的母公司“无锡共笔全书网络有限责任公司注册资本为20万元，最大股东为李尔特（领英，底下志愿者经历里写了维基百科），最终受益人为闫恩铭（即Techyan），下面还有三人持股，求闻百科的“裁决委员会”页面显示该网站有五名最高权限持有者，可以推断出就是五名公司股东。

- EntitySchemas: We continued work on the new datatype for linking to EntitySchemas in statements. We focused on the input so it shows the label of the EntitySchema when entering the ID. Search by label and aliases will follow. (phab:T362004)
- Wikibase REST API:
- We looked into how to improve error messages.
- We wrapped up the route for modifying the data of a Property. (phab:T347394
- We are nearing the finish line for the route for creating a new Item. (phab:T342990)
- We are continuing work on the route for modifying an Item. (phab:T342993)
- Developer advocacy: We are collecting content for a new landing page for developers who want to build applications with Wikidata's data.

- 2024-05-26：基金会发表了如何建立和关闭姊妹专案的程序及要求之草案，同时他们提议将“姊妹专案”（Sister Project）这个称呼改为“兄弟姊妹专案（暂译）”（Sibling Project）。咨询期将于6/23完结，如有任何意见可在讨论页提出。
- 2024-05-26：基金会理事会选举的候选人提名期及发问期已开始（5/8已开始），前者将在5/29完结，后者将在6/12完结。
- 2024-05-14：基金会开发的深色模式已在所有维基启用，目前仅适用于已启用行动版进阶模式的已登入使用者。而他们首要目标是让深色模式能在条目上使用，特殊页面、讨论页面和其他命名空间尚未更新。详见此公告。
- 2024-05-03：基金会正开发一个全新的社群愿望清单系统：该系统将持续一年（而非过去仅数周）；任何注册用户皆可提交愿望；即使提交者不熟悉 wikitext 也能提交：愿望将按性质（错误、功能需求）及 wikis 分类；设有仪表板搜寻及筛选愿望。
- 2024-05-26：基金会计划由过去投票予单一愿望，改为将类似的愿望归类至称为“重点领域”的问题空间中，并提供视觉设计原型。详情见此页。
