金牛座DH是一颗M型或红矮星恒星,是银河系中最常见的恒星类型之一[6]。它的视星等只有13.71,因此从地球不能以裸眼直接看见,它的表面温度为3,751 K。金牛座DH的质量为0.41 M,和估计它的半径为1.26 R

它的伴星金牛座DH B或金牛座DH b的质量估计在8 MJ22 MJ之间,因此可能是颗超级木星棕矮星[7]。其它来源给出的质量高达0.03 M热光度为0.01 L[8]。光谱类型被归类为M7.5[8]或M9.25[9]。虽然主星仍然有一个原行星盘,且仍在吸积物质,但伴星被一个星周盘(可能是环行星盘英语Circumplanetary disk,须取决于它的形成历史)包围[10]
